The Opportunity

We were approached by broker partner, Breadalbane Finance, to assist one of their clients with a refinance solution that would drive their business plan to support future growth and reduce monthly borrowing costs. The client, a well-established civil engineering company, wished to repay their existing finance agreements and generate working capital to fund a new project.

The client wished to release the equity held in their large fleet of excavators, dumpers, vans and tippers. The fleet size was understood to be around 120 assets.

The Solution

The Haydock team, including Eleanor Russell-Blackburn and Geoff Worrall, worked with Breadalbane’s Duncan Wood to structure a refinance solution with a 48 month term which would reduce borrowing costs and match the cash flow target of the business.

Due to the large fleet size, two asset inspections were completed by the Haydock team, enabling Tallon & Associates to provide an accurate valuation to support the level of funding required.

The Result

The refinance solution raised £1.8m of funding, enabling the client to settle their existing finance agreements plus inject £800k of equity back into the business to fulfil future contracts and projects.

Haydock’s Head of Broker Sales Andrea O’Brien comments, “We have partnered with Breadalbane on a range of high value refinance deals. Their team have a great understanding of both our risk appetite and our flexible approach for a strong credit covenant. Refinance transactions are our speciality so we are always keen to work on these types of proposals, regardless of the complexity.”

"We work with Haydock as their approach to transactions secures fantastic results for business owners. Every opportunity is reviewed in a way to help the business achieve the funding tailored to their needs and Haydock look beyond what may fit within a standard credit policy.  If the structure of the transaction appears rational, we are confident Haydock are well placed to take it forward."
